Babies and Their Dogs: February 2006

drumroll, please...

look at how excited I am!

a bouquet of chocolate covered strawberries that Aunt Yula and Uncle Jack sent us in honor of the new baby (don't they look delicious?? THANK YOU SO MUCH!)

We are all so excited and can't wait to meet my sibling. My mommy is in her 12th week, and she is doing pretty ok, but she's VERY tired, and she has to be careful with what she eats (but she doesn't have bad nausea!). We saw an ultrasound, and we know it's early, but it really looked like another boy! We'll find out for sure later. Her due date is August 20th. Daddy has been Super-Daddy, taking care of me, mommy, the house, and the dogs, and our grandmothers come over every week and are a BIG help. I have so much fun with them! Daddy also started a new job as an in house lawyer closeby, so I get to see so much more of him! Here's a review of what's been going on in the past weeks:

I've gotten really attached to daddy, and I'll cry when he leaves and be SO happy when he returns (I run to the garage door when I hear his car coming).

I got my first real bad stomach virus, and I was so sick for several days. Daddy got it first, then me, then mommy. We were miserable, but I was still such a trooper!

I like to lean my face against Jolie's back and pat her hair. It's my version of hugging her.

I like to read my books aloud, and I'll say a few of the words that I hear my parents say when they read book to me.

I love flipping through photo albums and finding pictures of my parents and showing them.

Dodger still doesn't let me hug him.

One of my favorite books is "The Very Lazy Ladybug," and my parents make fun noises and motions when they read it to me. When I read it myself, I'll make the same noises and motions I see/hear them doing ( in one part of the book they tickle me, so when I get to that page, I'll always tickle myself!).

I like to turn on the radio, and sometimes I'll dance to the music that comes on.

Once there was another boy sitting on mommy's lap, and I didn't like it, so I kept pushing him off until I got to sit on one knee while he sat on the other. I still wasn't satisfied, so I pushed him off completely! My mommy was cracking up.

Sometimes if you tell me to turn around, I'll keep doing it until I get dizzy and fall.

When I want to go outside, I'll get my shoes, try and put them on and get you to take me out (sometimes I try to put on daddy's shoes).

One of my favorite shows is... The Animal Planet!! I love watching all the funny animals they have, and I'll sit in front of the tv and laugh hysterically.

My mommy has memorized some of my books from reading them so much to me, so sometimes she'll start reciting one, and I'll recognize which one she's reading and go and get that book for her.
